Prekmurje Layer Cake

This rich layered pastry is one of Slovenia’s most beloved traditional desserts. Its name comes from the word guba (meaning "fold") — a nod to its many layers. Originating in the Prekmurje region along the Mura River, this delicacy has been enjoyed here for centuries.

Have you tried it yet?
Ours is made following a traditional recipe certified by Pekarna Omar. The dessert combines layers of delicate filo pastry and four distinct fillings: poppy seeds, cottage cheese, walnuts, and apples.

Savour the harmony of flavours and enjoy every bite!
