Visit Lendava

Lendava spreads over the far east of Slovenia and is situated near the Slovenian-Hungarian and Slovenian-Croatian border. It lies at the foot of the settlement of Lendavske gorice, not far from the river Mura. It is inhabited by Slovenes, Hungarians, Croatians, and members of other nations. A rich cultural tradition was the basis for the development of this multicultural middle-ground that defines the city and the municipality. The area of the Municipality of Lendava measures 123 km2 and covers 18 counties and 23 settlements. The municipality has a status of a mixed-ethnicity municipality, where, except for the settlements of Benica and Hotiza, an autochthonous Hungarian community lives alongside the Slovenian majority.
